The CATS Network strengthens EU-Turkey research collaboration and provides a platform for policy dialogue on their future relations.
Amid geopolitical tensions and unstable transatlantic relations, the EU is undergoing a period of profound change. Turkey plays a crucial role at the crossroads of Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia, particularly as conflicts reshape the regional order and international alliances. Its geopolitical position combined with its significant role in global challenges such as migration and supply chains, makes Turkey an indispensable but an unpredictable partner for Europe. These dynamics call for a continuous reassessment of Europe's perspectives on Turkey and (to envision) a more balanced and coherent policy approach towards Ankara.
To foster policy-related debates on Turkey at the European level, the CATS Network brings together Turkey experts from European and Turkish think tanks, universities, and research institutes. Established and curated by the Centre for Applied Turkey Studies (CATS), the network serves as a platform for fact-based and independent research, aiming to contribute to a more coherent Turkey policy of the European Union (EU) and its member states.
